Meet Uzoma Nworgu – IAMAS/IAHS ECS Spotlight

Uzoma Nworgu is a first-year PhD student from Nigeria, currently based at Université Grenoble Alpes. His research focuses on the interconnections between climate change in Antarctica and the tropics, and is linked to the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS) and the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).

Uzoma is also a member of the Australia-France Network of Doctoral Excellence (AUFRANDE, https://aufrande.eu), a program co-funded by the European Union that brings together research centers in France and Australia to train the next generation of scientists.

With Antarctica playing a key role in the global climate, Uzoma studies extreme weather events there, exploring how oceans, land, and rainfall are connected and why understanding these links is crucial for Africa.
