ECS involvement in IAGA

IAGA benefits from a strong and active participation of Early-Career Scientists (ECS). In this blog post, we highlight the involvement of ECS within the ICEO – the Interdivisional Commission on Education and Outreach (https://iaga-aiga.org/index.php?id=education-outreach). The main goal of ICEO is to facilitate and strengthen international cooperation across IAGA. The commission plays a key role in the organisation of IAGA schools and serves as a central platform for international networking, collaboration among young scientists, and engagement with the broader public.

Within ICEO, the ComNet WG (Communication and Networking Working Group) focuses on enhancing connectivity across the breadth of IAGA and communicating our research to a wide range of audiences. The group aims to improve exchanges within IAGA, foster collaboration with other scientific organisations, and reach out to the general public. ComNet highlights opportunities through its social media channels, produces short videos introducing IAGA science to non-specialist audiences, supports the writing of accessible blog posts from a broad range of contributors, and actively contributes to education and outreach initiatives. See our YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@iaga-aiga) and blog site (https://iaga-aiga.blogspot.com/) for more details.
