Meet Elisabeth! A German researcher fascinated by the inner workings of volcanoes. Her driving question: How do natural and human-induced processes shape the underground and seismic activity of a volcano?
Do you want to know more about Elisabeth’s career?
Watch the video below:
During her PhD at ISTerre in Grenoble, Elisabeth has been diving into the complex dynamics of a volcano in Iceland, combining imaging and monitoring techniques to understand how it behaves. Passionate about fieldwork, she already gained hands-on experience during her master’s and continues to explore challenging volcanic environments in her PhD.
Elisabeth collaborates with researchers from multiple fields to piece together the puzzle of volcanic processes – from natural to anthropogenic influences – aiming to improve our understanding of how these fascinating systems evolve.
