ECS VIDEO SERIES: Kyriaki Drymoni (IAVCEI)

Meet Kyriaki! Kyriaki Drymoni is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Global Fellow based at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany, and currently a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), California Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on understanding how magma moves through the Earth’s crust, with a particular interest in unveiling the conditions that control dyke propagation and magma transport.

Her research is essential for improving our understanding of how magmatic systems work, and she aims to advance our ability to determine where and when magma is likely to erupt. Her approach is multidisciplinary, integrating field observations, geophysical data, laboratory experiments, and numerical modeling. As part of her global fellowship, Kyriaki has conducted research at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the Alaska Volcano Observatory and continues her project at JPL before moving on to Geoscience Barcelona (GEO3BCN-CSIC). These international experiences give her a unique perspective on interdisciplinary approaches within geosciences.
